— Founded by Lars Anker-Møller

In 2001, Danish born Lars Anker-Møller first set foot in East Greenland where he started out as a sales manager for Greenlandic stamps in Tasiilaq. Lars felt at home in the astonishing icy landscapes surrounding the area, and only 3 years later — in 2004 — he was a licensed hunter. From then on, his life changed, and he managed to make a living off of fishing and hunting for seal.

As a fulltime huntsman, he also immersed himself into the traditional ways in which the native hunters lived and in 2007, he combined his deep insights into the culture with his passion for photography, when he created and published the visual work Fangerne i Ammassalik (The Hunters of Ammassalik). In 2021, he published his second photography work titled East Greenland — Five Star Nature which is the first ever photobook to be published in both Greenlandic and Danish. Translations into French and English are to follow shortly. 

Lars founded ARCTIC DREAM with a clear vision — he wants to bring you into the authentic and mythical scenery of East Greenland and offer you a life-altering experience never to be forgotten. You will taste the local cuisine, become a part of the culture, and you will be amazed by the — as he himself puts it — breathtaking five star nature encompassing Ammassalik. 

Furthermore, Lars has a dream of creating as many local jobs as possible in the community. He does so — on the one hand — through his training programme for young locals in which they learn to safely navigate his luggage boats, and — on the other hand — by making sure locals are continuously educated.

In general, Lars is committed to hiring locals in his business, and to make sure safety is always the highest priority onboard his boats. Therefore, his staff and he himself are regularly trained in safety procedures and methods. 

Lars speaks Danish, German, and English fluently, and his more than 20 years of experience in the intense regions of the eastern parts of Greenland assures that — if you choose his tours — you will truly be in for an ARCTIC DREAM adventure.
